XenDesktop Team

Contribute to remoting technologies; make it possible for BMW, Bombardier and Volvo.
XenDesktop is the future. Growing at an exponential rate, it is projected to become the preferred solution for remoting. This product requires 10 times less bandwidth than any other competitor offering. In fact, it is safe to say that currently, there is actually no other product that compares.

Eight people spent two and a half years working on a graphics remoting solution based on XenApp. A year later, this group grew to 20, and work began on multi-monitors, animated cursors, remote gaming, and thin client support. The intellectual property value of 3D graphics remoting is extremely high, since it is data intensive and almost impossible to remote across continents. Imagine then, working with a team that constantly accesses the world’s only currently viable solution for WAN 3D graphics remoting on 2mbps lines.

Working out of Citrix R&D India means working in a flexible environment. There are so many components that are built in India, including Flash remoting from Windows to Linux, audio remoting, USB device support for desktop remoting, and Life Cycle Maintenance. In fact, someone running on Windows can move to Linux. Here, where there is no hierarchy, people have a greater say on what they want to do. And the work that is done here is as critical as what goes on in the US.

Vipin Borkar, Lead Test Engineer: There is a strong sense of ownership; it’s not as if someone in the US is contracting work to you.

With the release of version 2.0 in early 2010, the XenDesktop team at Citrix R&D India is poised to add to its wealth of problem solvers, strategists and visionaries.
